Mark Fernandes is Chief Technology Officer for the Security Portfolio at CyberRes, a Micro Focus line of business. His focus areas includes leading the developing of advanced cyber solutions for global clients. Mr. Fernandes has over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity, governance, analytics, darkspace intelligence, advanced threat defenses and hunting. He and his team have worked on the development of market leading advanced cyber services pertaining to business centric cyber managed services, advanced threat mitigation, hunting, actor attribution, intelligence, outcome based analytics, red (and purple) teaming and other key areas of cyber competencies.
In his previous roles, Mr. Fernandes has served as a senior security engineer at 3COM Corporation. At the networking manufacturer he successfully led a network security team towards the separation of Palm Corporation. He was responsible for separating the corporate networks and the development of Palm Corporations Security Framework, which is currently still being used at the organization. Mr. Fernandes also served as the chief information security architect for the 2000 U.S. Commission for Presidential Elections. During this highly visible project he worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Commission for Presidential Elections and other security governmental agencies to develop, engineer and architect a world class security model.
